Searching with Online Bible You can connect one or more words using the: 1. AND operator "&": Jesus & Christ or Jesus Christ- Matches verses with both the word "Jesus" and the word "Christ". 2. OR operator "|":Jesus Christ | Jesus wept- Matches verses with either "Jesus" and "Christ" in them, or with"Jesus" and "wept" in them. 3. AND NOT operator "~": Jesus ~ LORD- Matches verses with "Jesus", but not the word "LORD", in them. 4. PROXIMITY operator "@n": Jesus Christ @5 LORD- Matches verses containing the words "Jesus" and "Christ" when the word "LORD" is within 5 verses of these verses. 5. Use "*" as a PREFIX operator: e.g., to find words that START with "merc" write: merc* . Or use "*" as a ROOT operator: e.g., to find words that CONTAIN "love" (love, loved, beloved, etc.) write: *love A given search can use more than one operator.
